I came across another very informative and thought provoking article on Long Term Care Planning. The Huffington Post recently published "Never Too Early to Review Long-Term Care Options" by Wm. Scott Page. Mr. Page brings up some good points and offers some possible solutions including Long Term Care Insurance, Life Insurance, Reverse Mortgages and Medicaid. His best point however reflects exactly what we strive to share in this blog on a consistent basis. Says Mr. Page, "In general, anyone past the age of 45 should develop a plan to pay for long-term care. Making creative use of existing assets offers options preferable to becoming a burden on the government or your kids."
We couldn't agree more, if you find yourself on the downhill side of 40 you should be seriously considering your long term care options down the road.
